John Denver became a star through the folk-inspired songs that he wrote, many of them situated in Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in love with Colorado and then settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems have inspired many to visit Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver was by far one of the most well-known musicians who was a symbol of Colorado. Denver was the very first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. He is now Colorado's international image. When you encounter people from other nations, for instance New Zealanders, and they tell them "I am originally from Colorado" then they react with "Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time in folk groups and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff composed the tune for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the potential of the single when he first heard it.
